Intro

At Masker Studio, we believe masks are more than mere objects — they are vessels of identity, transformation, and storytelling. Since 2019, our studio has been creating handcrafted masks that bridge the gap between ancient artistry and modern aesthetics.

Each piece begins with a concept rooted in cultural research, moves through meticulous sculpting and molding, and culminates in a finished work that carries both beauty and meaning. Whether for stage performances, gallery exhibitions, or private collections, our masks are designed to evoke emotion and spark imagination.

Work

Our portfolio spans a diverse range of projects across theatrical production, fashion editorial, and art installation. We have collaborated with independent theater companies across East Asia and Europe, providing custom mask sets that bring characters to life on stage.

Recent highlights include a commissioned series of 24 ceremonial masks for a contemporary dance performance in Tokyo, a collaboration with an emerging fashion label on their runway collection, and a solo exhibition at a gallery in Kyoto exploring the theme of hidden identities in digital culture.

We also offer limited-edition mask collections released seasonally, each inspired by a different cultural tradition — from Venetian Carnival to Japanese Noh, from African tribal motifs to futuristic cyberpunk aesthetics.

About

Masker Studio was founded by a small team of designers, sculptors, and visual artists who share a deep fascination with the cultural significance of masks throughout human history. Our workshop combines traditional craftsmanship — hand-carving, leather tooling, papier-mâché layering — with modern techniques such as 3D modeling and resin casting.

We source our materials responsibly: natural pigments, sustainably harvested wood, vegetable-tanned leather, and recycled metals. Every mask that leaves our studio is a one-of-a-kind piece, signed and numbered, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity detailing its materials and inspiration.

Our studio is currently based in Tokyo, with collaborators in London and Milan.
